Yaya Toure snubs Manchester United move for PSG

The Daily Star are reporting the exclusive transfer news that claims that Yaya Toure has turned down an opportunity to defect to Manchester United with PSG his preferred destination.

The midfield play-maker has fallen out of favour with the Etihad-based team over issues with his birthday celebration when his agent made his bizarre claim that the players birthday was not acknowledged correctly. This was then followed by a blog post slamming City for a lack of support in the wake of the death of his brother from cancer. Toure claimed that the club didn’t let him spend time with his brother but the club also insisted that no request was made and that leave would have been granted if he had done so.

The report claims that United bosses let it be know that the player was of interest and that a £40m deal was on the cards in what would have been a sensational coup. United were told however that Toure had no interest in joining them and was instead holding out for a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The 31-year-old joined Manchester City from Barcelona in 2010 and has gone on to make 134 appearances for the club and scored 38 goals. Man City has provided the most successful spell for the player in terms of appearances and goals having scored only 4 goals in his 74 Appearances for Barcelona.

The stand-off appears to have not been resolved as yet but the Daily Star claim that showdown talks will be held at the start of the clubs pre-season tour of the USA between Pellegrini and Toure in the hope of resolving the players issues.
