Out of favour Barcelona forward Pedro Rodríguez has admitted to friends that he would prefer a move to Premier League side Manchester United, over any other club, according to the Metro this morning.

A number of English sides have been linked with a move for the three-time Champions League winner, who has spoke about his 'difficult situation' at Barcelona.

Pedro recently signed a new deal with the Catalan giants but has confirmed a number of offers have been received for his services. Whilst also admitting that his release clause with the club has been reduced from €150m, to just €30m:

“It’s true, we agreed to reduce the value of the buyout clause and it’s true there are offers,”

Liverpool and Chelsea have also been monitoring the 27-year-old's situation at Barcelona, but United now lead the race for the player's signature after after he told friends he'd prefer a transfer to the Old Trafford club.

Pedro has been used mainly as a sub by coach Luis Enrique and is looking for a more prominent role as he reaches the peak of his career. Barcelona would likely agree his sale for a fee in the region of £18-£20million, which is good value for a European & World champion.
