I'm sure there are United fans out there who are calling for David Moyes to get the chop already. And why shouldn't they? Manchester United have had a awful start to the season. Losing to Liverpool in the league, embarrassed by City and beaten by West Brom. Lets not forget how Fergie started in Manchester though.
Alex Ferguson joined Manchester United in November 1986. Many supporters will be surprised to hear he wasn't an instant success. In fact in 1989 after a run of only 2 points from 8 games many fans and journalists were calling for Fergie to get the sack, a banner at Old Trafford reading “Three years of excuses and it's still crap... ta-ra Fergie” showed the fans frustrations. The board stuck by Alex Ferguson through the darkest moments of his management career and finally in the 1992-1993 season the Premier League title moved to Old Trafford. Since then Manchester United have been the power house in English football winning 13 Premier League trophies, including a unforgettable treble winning season in 1999.
I expect everyone was surprised to see how big of a success Sir Alex was at Manchester United when you consider the start. He is the most successful British manager in history, fact.
Now, I'm not saying for one minute that Moyes will ever win as much as Fergie. But he could be as good as him. He needs the time to do it though. The Glazer's, the supporters and the whole club must get behind David Moyes and the squad. He needs the time to get his own players in, his own staff in and get the team playing his own brand of football.

David Moyes is a top class manager he proved it at Preston and then at Everton, he was picked to succeed Ferguson by the man himself and if that isn't a sign of belief in David's management skills then what is?
In the words of the great Sir Alex Ferguson "I'd like to remind you that when we had bad times here, the club stood by me, all my staff stood by me, the players stood by me. Your job now is to stand by our new manager. That is important.”
Moyes WILL be a success, maybe not this season, maybe not the next, but at some point in the near future United will be Premier League champions again.
