Premier League clubs have spent a grand total of £600 million so far in the Summer Transfer Window thereby clocking the highest in Transfer Spending in all of Europe’s top five leagues. Below is a profit and loss (net profit vs net spent) in order from most spent to least.
1) Newcastle United - Net Spent - £35.5 million.
2) Manchester City – Net Spent - £25.3 million.
3) West Bromwich Albion – Net Spent - £24.5 million.
4) Crystal Palace – Net Spent - £20.5 million.
5) Manchester United – Net Spent - £19.5 million.
5) West Ham United – Net Spent - £19.5 million.
7) Liverpool – Net Spent - £19 million.
8) AFC Bournemouth – Net Spent- £18 million.
9) Leicester City – Net Spent - £18 million.
10) Sunderland – Net Spent - £17 million.
11) Watford – Net Spent - £16.5 million.
12) Arsenal – Net Spent - £9 million.
13) Swansea – Net Spent - £8 million.
13) Norwich City – Net Spent - £8 million.
15) Everton – Net Spent - £5 million.
16) Stoke City – Net Spent - £3 million.
17) Aston Villa – Net Spent - £2.5 million.
18) Southampton – Net Profit - £2 million.
19) Chelsea – Net Profit - £12 million.

Chelsea have adopted an economic transfer which sees them almost bottom of the list though that might change if their pursuit of John Stones ends in success. Manchester City are also set to increase their spending with the signing of Nicolas Otamendi. With so much having been spent already, one can only expect more leading up to Deadline Day.
