We're the best of enemies: Wigan's Bruce and Whelan plot United upset

Wigan's JJB Stadium really could not possibly have looked more inviting to champions-in-waiting Manchester United as it stood bathed in glorious sunshine. A perfect pitch, a Wigan chairman who admits it will be 'a shame' if his team beat United and a manager who is quite happy to confess that the rest of the Barclays Premier League are still trying to fathom quite how Sir Alex Ferguson does it each year. So, ahead of a game that United must win if they are to place a hand on the championship trophy, is there really any hope of an upset towards the end of a league season that has thrown up quite a few? 'I could detect a mentality change when we beat Hull and got to 41 points,' admitted Wigan manager Steve Bruce. 'Everyone at the club, from top to bottom, seem to be thinking,"great, we've done it again", instead of thinking about how to kick on.You can understand that but it's not what I want for this game.
