We'll silence sneering Gunners: Rooney out to seal title and halt fans' taunts
It seems only last week that Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein stood on the steps in the Old Trafford directors' box and uttered the line he may have come to regret.
'This could signal a power shift in English football,' he said after watching Arsenal clinch the Barclays Premier League title - and a league and FA Cup double - with a 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Remarkably, that was seven years ago and since then much has happened. Dein, for example, is no longer involved at Arsenal and the north London club are no longer involved in title races. Manchester United, however, roll on.

Wednesday night's 2-1 win at Wigan was certainly more dramatic than many had predicted. Nevertheless, there was something impressively predictable about it. United remain astonishingly adept at closing out championships and at Old Trafford on Saturday, Sir Alex Ferguson's team require one point against Arsenal to make it three in a row.
