Rio Ferdinand will boost Manchester United's title challenge by making his longawaited return from injury at Old Trafford today.[LNB] The 31-year-old England defender has made only eight appearances for United this season, and has not played since suffering a recurrence of a back problem in the 2-0 defeat at Liverpool in October.[LNB] To Hull and back: Ferdinand will return from injury against the Tigers on Saturday[LNB]But Sir Alex Ferguson has welcomed Ferdinand's return for the home game against Hull City as his squad continues to emerge from the grip of a defensive injury crisis that has threatened to undermine their season.[LNB] 'It's a big boost to have him back because it's been a rough time for us,' he said.
