Wayne Rooney's pledge to stay adds to Manchester United's delight

Ryan Giggs and Park Ji-Sung scored the goals that took United six points clear at the top with four games to play, but it was Rooney who caught the eye with an excellent performance. The striker has said he would welcome talks about a contract extension. [LNB]Rooney, 23, who joined United from Everton in a £26 million deal in 2004, has three years left on his contract and, although there have not been any discussions, the England forward would not hesitate to sign. "I am happy here and I'd sign a new contract anytime. I want to stay at this club for the rest of my career.
