The Manchester United striker continues to avoid the Red Devil’s attempts of opening up contract renewals with the Red Devils, with his current contract expiring in 2015.
Goal exclusively reports that the England international and his camp are not willing to hold a discussion concerning an extension.
It was in October when Rooney first rejected contract renewal talks with the club, as he is exploring the possibility of departing from Manchester United.
Moyes has insisted that a new deal with Rooney will come in due time but Rooney is on the lookout for a transfer to another Champions League contender.
United are reportedly willing to offer the 28-year old a four-year deal.
Rooney has started this Premier League campaign in impeccable form and has managed to net eight goals in 13 appearances for the Reds. While the club continues to spiral down the Premier League table, Rooney’s form remains the only good constant.
The United man is aware of the form he is currently in and with the club struggling, he holds the upper hand in his renewal talks. The player and his agent are in a solid position to make a transfer happen either in January or next summer transfer window.
Rooney has attracted the attention of several European heavy weights. Chelsea have already expressed their interest in the striker last summer, but saw their two offers rejected.
United will not be keen on selling Rooney to any English club, especially Chelsea, because they are seen as a main rival for the title.
The current champions will face trouble convincing the Englishman to renew his time at the club if they decline to extend his £250,000 a week salary. On the other hand, struggling United are not in a position to lose their main striker, with no potential signings on the horizon.
