Wayne Rooney in good spirits ahead of two months out of Manchester United's campaign
Posted on his Twitter account, the picture shows Rooney on his sofa at home
with his right leg bandaged above the knee. The six-inch wound in his right
thigh cut to the bone and required stitching under a general anaesthetic.

In a message alongside the picture he wrote:
"Thanks for all the messages of support. Gutted to be out for a while but
my leg will be ok which is the main thing."
Rooney's t-shirt features the Latin saying Virescit Vulnere Virtus, translated
as "Courage becomes greater through a wound."
