Wayne Rooney defended by Jack Marshall's father over kiss

Wayne Rooney has been defended by the father of Jack Marshall after the Manchester United striker was accused of a 'publicity stunt' in kissing the sick child.[LNB]After Sportsmail published moving photographs of Jack's emotional visit to United's training ground, some critics questioned whether Rooney's role was designed to boost his image in the wake of his recent suspension for swearing at the television camera.[LNB] Sealed with a kiss: Wayne Rooney was among the United stars who spent time with Jack[LNB] But Craig Marshall, whose son was invited to the Carrington HQ by United star Rio Ferdinand, posted a message on our article to defend Rooney.[LNB]When five-year-old Jack, who has beendiagnosed with a brain tumour, visited United's training ground he onlyhad eyes for Rooney and said: 'I'd like to kiss you, Wayne. I think youare the best footballer in the world.'[LNB]Craig wrote: 'I am Jack's dad. There was nothing staged in the photos. Jack surprised us all with what he didand said, as he was very tired most of the day.
