Villa - Hard to cope

David Villa has admitted that the past week has been 'dreadful' amid constant speculation over his future. The Valencia striker has been tipped for a big-money summer move away from Los Che, with La Liga rivals Real Madrid confident of securing his services. Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the talented Spain international. And Villa, who is currently in South Africa with his country for the Confederations Cup, has found the daily conjecture has placed a strain on his shoulders. "Nobody can know how dreadful the past week has been for me. It was really bad with all the speculation going on and everyone always asking me about my future," he said. "My family has advised me to focus strictly on the football so that is what I have been trying to do - and will continue to do over the next week while we are here in South Africa. "I am not going to say anything concerning my future at all. "I just want to enjoy the Confed Cup, help my team win the title and keep on scoring goals - trying to catch Raul at the top of Spain's all-time scoring list. "I am trying to prove during training and matches that this is not getting to me, but it's hard to cope in between the active sessions and the games. "The only realistic comment I can make about next season is that I don't know where I am going to play. I am trying not to let my performances be affected by all this."
