Vidic - United feel pressure

Nemanja Vidic has admitted that Manchester United's recent wobble could be put down to complacency. The Red Devils remain on course to claim a historic quintuple this season, but have allowed their usual high standards to slip of late. They remain top of the Premier League table, in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and safely through to the last four of the UEFA Champions League, but have made hard work of a number of recent fixtures. Next up is a Wembley date with Everton, as they look to reach the FA Cup final, and Vidic admits Sir Alex Ferguson's men must avoid reading too much into the hype surrounding the club if they are to re-write the record books. "It's hard to say whether that happened," said the Serbian centre-half. "Everybody was speaking nicely about the players and we were running for five trophies. I can't say for sure - but maybe somewhere in the head, maybe it affected us. "Now we need to believe we can do it and win all five, but we can't think about those five trophies, only the next game." Vidic came agonisingly close to claiming an FA Cup winners' medal two years ago, only to be denied by Didier Drogba's late show for Chelsea, and he is desperate to make amends this time around. "I haven't won it yet and it was a disappointment to lose to Chelsea like that, so now it is a big ambition," he added. "But it's a big game for Everton because the FA Cup the only trophy they can win. "We know they have quality players, they're going to have more rest and preparation than us. But we have some players back from injury as well and we can freshen our team." Vidic, who is among the favourites to land this season's PFA Player of the Year award, has also revealed that a recent horror show in a 4-1 defeat against Liverpool has helped to make him stronger. "When it's a big game like Liverpool and you make a mistake, you're never going to forget it. But that mistake can help you make sure it doesn't happen again," he said. "I've replayed that moment (when he allowed Fernando Torres to grab Liverpool's first) because I like to look back - I won't hide from that. When I play well and when I play badly I like to watch the matches and improve every part of my game. "In that moment against Liverpool, obviously I'd like to have cleared the ball straight away. When the game is finished you know these things but like I say, you take them and try next time not to do the same thing."
