Vidic pledges future to United

EMANJA Vidic is staying with United. Reports over the last few months have linked the Serbian defender with Champions League holders Barcelona. The Spanish giants' ears pricked up when stories circulated that the 28-year-old's wife Ana was unhappy in England and fed up with the Manchester weather. Vidic's agent Paolo Fabbri initially appeared to fuel the rumours, reportedly saying on Spanish radio that it was Vidic's "dream" to move to the Nou Camp and he'd be "delighted" to join the Spaniards. Fabbri later denied he made the comments. Recently reports that Vidic is seeking to match Rio Ferdinand's pay packet have suggested more unrest. But last season's Players' and fans' Player of the Season insists he's never even hinted he wants a switch to La Liga. "I never said that. Other people speak about it and I can't do anything about that," he said. "I never said anything. Other people write about it and I am definitely not happy with that. But it's how things are. "I have said in the past what I think about it. I don't want to keep talking about these things because I can't stop them." But Vidic, who signed from Spartak Moscow in December 2005 for £7m, says he's content to stay. He signed a new deal in November 2007 that takes him to 2012. But reports have suggested he wants to up the £75,000-a-week deal agreed two years ago to the £130,000 figure that England defender Ferdinand earns. But he's not forcing new talks on Sir Alex or the Reds' hierarchy. I am happy here. It depends on the club. We will see what happens, he added. I don't want to rush and speak about my future in the media. I will speak to the club. I don't want to push the club. I don't want to push anyone. I am here. I am happy. I think I have shown in the games that I want to be part of the team and to play every game 100 per cent. I am glad to have been part of this club for so many years. It is nice. If I can be part of the future as well I would be very happy.  Vidic, however, is less than happy with his personal season so far. He has struggled to reach his best form as he's been dogged by a calf injury and a suspension for a red card at Liverpool.  It is not that I am not happy with my form. I am not happy because I have had a lot of injuries, he said.  All the time I feel something. That worries me but I don't have a problem with my form. I am 100 per cent fit now though.  We need to get back to keeping clean sheets. It is very important for the team when you don't lose a goal. When you have stability at the back and don't lose goals it is easier for the forwards and midfield players.  With the quality players we have we can always score. This year, not just Manchester United, all teams have lost more goals that last season. We need to improve that. I hope we will do better in the next games.
