The Welshman has enjoyed a successful career at Old Trafford and was this week handed a contract extension to take him into a 19th season with the club.
Vidic has played alongside Giggs for just three years but the Serbian recognises that he is a shining example for others to follow.
"Young players need to look at Ryan," said Vidic.
"He is a complete professional and any young player can learn from him about how to develop themselves and how to have a big career and a long career.
"He has done very well this season and I am glad he has signed a new contract and will be part of this squad for another 18 months."
35-year-old Giggs remains a key performer for United but Vidic has also been impressed by his strength of character.
He said: "He has been at this level for 18 years. To do that at Manchester United is not easy.
"In order to keep winning trophies for that long you don't just need football ability, you must be mentally tough as well."
