Vidic: Fergie ban is no problem

NEMANJA Vidic is confident Manchester United can take Sir Alex Ferguson's touchline ban in their stride. Ferguson was fined £20,000 and banned for two games, with a further two matches suspended until the end of next season, for claiming referee Alan Wiley was "not fit" when officiating the Reds' 2-2 draw with Sunderland. The Scot will be stuck in the stands for the clash with Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday and the trip to Portsmouth the following week. However, Serbia international Vidic insists the team will cope in Ferguson's absence. [LNB] "We have big games coming up, especially after Chelsea moved five points ahead of us, and now the next three or four games are very important to us," he told Sky Sports News.[LNB] "I hope we show the character to win the games without him.[LNB] "But we know what is waiting for us and what he expects off us and nothing changes and during the game you are focused and you don't look over to the bench.[LNB] "In that aspect I don't think there will be a big difference and everything he sees he will have contact with the second coach and he will be there."[LNB] United team-mate Park Ji-Sung, who goes head-to-head with Vidic when South Korea take on Serbia in a friendly at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, says the champions have plenty of time to overhaul Chelsea's five-point lead at the top of the Premier League. [LNB] "It is still a long season but we know we have to get over [the Chelsea defeat]," said the 28-year-old utility player.[LNB] "Then [there is] still many games left in the season but our performance was good [at Stamford Bridge] but it was 1-0 and that was a shame but we can still get better and improve and then we are very confident. So we can still win the title." [LNB]
