Van der Sar hails Giggs record

Edwin van der Sar believes the phenomenal achievements of Ryan Giggs will never be equalled.[LNB] The Manchester United stalwart was named PFA Player of the Year on Sunday, the first time he has taken that particular prize in a trophy-laden career.[LNB]During a remarkable 17-year stay at Old Trafford the Welsh winger has won 10 Premier League titles, two European Cups, four FA Cups, three League Cups and various other accolades.[LNB]He is also closing in on 800 appearances for the Red Devils, with Wednesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Arsenal expected to mark the moment he reaches that landmark.[LNB]At 35-years-old he is showing no signs of slowing down either and continues to set the standard for others to follow.[LNB]He is a true legend of the modern game and his United team-mate Van der Sar expects his records to stand the test of time.[LNB]Dedication"It would be hard to beat that record," said the veteran Dutchman.[LNB]"There are so many changes now with transfers and everything else and Ryan started out early.[LNB]"You will not see anything like that in future.[LNB]"And the thing is he is still going strong. It is as though he is only 31."[LNB]He added: "It is a joy to see how he trains as well as plays.[LNB]"How he controls the ball, how he sees a pass and the runs he makes.
