Valladolid clinch Manucho deal

Real Valladolid have caused a stir by reaching an agreement to sign Manucho from Manchester United, the Spanish club have confirmed. The club stated earlier this week that there would be one surprise signing this summer and they believe that the arrival of the Angola international can be seen as something of a coup. After spending much of last season on loan at Hull City in the English Premier League, Manucho was expected to return to Old Trafford and try to impress Sir Alex Ferguson. Instead, the 26-year-old has been tempted by the offer of regular first-team football in the Primera Liga and he is due in Valladolid for a medical and to sign a five-year contract in the next few days. Manucho began his career with Benfica de Luanda in his homeland, before going on to score 34 goals in 78 games for Petro Atletico. A move to Manchester United followed as his dream of joining one of European football's elite teams came true. However, after making only one first team appearance for the Red Devils, he was loaned out to Pananthinaikos in 2008 and joined Hull in January of this year.
