United, Real, Milan eye Ninis

Manchester United are considering upping their interest in young Greek midfielder Sotiris Ninis. The Reds have been monitoring the 20-year-old Panathinaikos player for some time and a post-World Cup bid was mooted. Ninis came on twice for his national side in South Africa against Nigeria and Argentina. However, despite Sir Alex Ferguson's interest United failed to move in. Real Madrid and AC Milan are also said to be running the rule over the young playmaker but they too have so far held back. All three suitors will be able to take a close look at Ninis this season in the Champions League with Panathinaikos in a group with Barcelona, Rubin Kazan and Copenhagen. The £8m-rated Ninis is a versatile engine room player with attacking instincts, the ability to play wide but also take charge of a game with his passing and could be viewed as a long term replacement for Paul Scholes. He won't be 21 until next April and would fit into Fergie's newcomer's profile. Would you like to see United go for Ninis? Have your say.
