22 December 2010 04:11
He might not be everyone's favourite player - but Dimitar Berbatov is one of the top performers at United according to our interactive player ratings. We've kept track of all the scores given to Reds players by our reporters and by the fans over the season so far. And coming up to the mid-point of the campaign the mercurial Bulgarian Berbatov is riding high. Over the 25 matches rated so far, he has the top average from the MEN reporters (normally Stuart Mathieson) with an average of 7.0. His score was of course swelled by two perfect 10 performances against Liverpool and Blackburn. The MEN has Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and veteran midfielder Paul Scholes next on an average of 6.9, while Patrice Evra, Nani and Anderson are also doing well. The top performer according to you the fans, though, is defender Vidic who is averaging 7.0 from supporter scores. Berbatov is second on 6.9, while Ferdinand and Scholes are on 6.8. Striker Wayne Rooney's underwhelming season so far is reflected by a 6.3 average from the MEN and a lowly 5.8 from fans. Jonny Evans' struggles this season are shown by a 5.9 average from the MEN and a 5.2 average from the fans. Uncharacteristically, Ryan Giggs dips below the six mark with a 5.9 from the MEN and a 5.7 from the fans. For a full list of the ratings click here and scroll down to the averages section.
