Manchester United today reluctantly handed back the European Cup in a ceremony to mark this year's final in Rome. The Red Devils, who beat Chelsea last year to lift the trophy, could well have their hands back on it in a month's time if they can overcome Arsenal and head to the Italian capital. United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who scored the winning goal in the Red Devils' 1999 triumph over Bayern Munich, travelled over with chief executive David Gill as part of the handover. UEFA president Michel Platini was also at Rome's city hall with mayor Gianni Alemanno. The final takes place at the Olympic Stadium on May 27.
