United keeping tabs on Neuer

Schalke boss Felix Magath claims Manchester United are tracking his highly-rated goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The 23-year-old is regarded as one of Europe's hottest prospects, and has already broken into the senior Germany side. He has been part of the first-team set-up at Schalke for the past three years and is now firmly established as the club's No.1. A number of impressive showings during his time at the Veltins Arena have seen him draw admiring glances from afar, with United reportedly the latest to check on his progress. Magath is keen to avoid ant talk of a possible transfer for now, but admits he is aware of mounting interest in the young shot-stopper. "I have heard Manchester United would be interested in signing Manuel Neuer," he told Die Welt. "But for as long as I don't receive a concrete approach, I will not make any statement about this." Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also believed to be keen on Neuer, but United are said to be willing to pay a higher fee in order to land the youngster.
