United held by Bolton

Manchester United failed to capitalise on Saturday`s favourable results as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Bolton. United were hoping to move level on points with Chelsea after they and Arsenal lost on Saturday, but were stunned by a sixth-minute Bolton goal, with Zat Knight flicking home from a corner. United hit back, though, with a goal of fine quality after Luis Nani`s weaving run from the halfway line ended in the Portuguese winger planting a low shot in the bottom corner after 22 minutes. Sir Alex Ferguson`s men could not build on that goal, though, and Bolton regained their lead just after the hour mark when MArtin Petrov completed a flowing move by thumping in a deflected effort. United once again responded and were level inside 10 minutes when Michael Owen recorded his 200th club goal when he met Nani`s free-kick with a glancing header. Both teams searched in vain for a winner, with Johan Elmander firing wide for Bolton, while Paul Scholes blasted just over.
