United eye Hatters starlet
Manchester United are keeping tabs on Stockport starlet Josh Thompson, skysports.com understands.[LNB] Highly-rated defender Thompson is believed to have spent last week on trial at the Premier League champions.[LNB]The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the best young prospects outside the top flight after coming through Stockport's youth set-up into the first team this season.[LNB]Thompson had a spell on trial at West Brom earlier this month and a number of sides are believed to be monitoring him.[LNB]United are one of the teams tracking Thompson and they cast an eye over the centre-half in training last week, prior to the Champions League final.[LNB]Stockport are resigned to losing their best players after going into administration last month and United could move for Thompson to head off interest from other clubs.[LNB]
