United could sell Ferdinand and Vidic

Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in the summer.

Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to re-build his squad at the end of the current campaign and the defenders who have been instrumental in bringing success to Old Trafford could go.

Despite a solid pairing that has brought four league titles in five seasons, the centre backs have this season showed signs of being past their best.

The Sunday Times claims that this could be their last at Man United with Phil Jones and Chris Smalling looking to take their places in the starting XI.

Vidic has been linked with Real Madrid, Juventus and mega-rich Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.

Ferdinand has attracted interest from former club West Ham but is also likely to receive offers from an MLS side in the US.
