Sir Alex Ferguson does not expect Manchester United to be successful in their attempt to get Darren Fletcher's Champions League final ban overturned, despite UEFA confirming that their disciplinary body will meet on Monday to discuss the appeal.[LNB]Fletcher was sent off during the semi-final win over Arsenal after sending CescFabregas flying inside the penalty area. Even Ferguson admitted he thought Italian referee Roberto Rosetti had got the decision spot on, only to then see a replay that proved Fletcher had flicked the ball away from Arsenal's captain before flattening him.[LNB] Pain game: Darren Fletcher is consoled by United coach Mike Phelan as Sir Alex Ferguson looks on.[LNB]Although there is no appeals process, United have now written to UEFA, pleading Fletcher's case on compassionate grounds, and the fact that the governing body will consider their case could be seen as a promising sign for the club.[LNB]However, Ferguson believes there is little hope for his fellow countryman.[LNB]'I am not optimistic at all,' said Ferguson. 'We have to do it for Darren and sometimes in these situations, you never know. But I don't think it will be overturned. The referee made an honest decision.'[LNB] PICTURE SPECIAL: United star Darren suffers another disappointment as Fletcher follows Euro ban with defeat at Chester racesGRAHAM POLL: Forget final emotion, ref Rosetti was spot on to show redUEFA give Darren Fletcher hope of playing in the Champions League finalMANCHESTER UNITED FC
