Transfer Round Up 19th June - Juventus want Nani, No offers for Barca star Fabregas

19 June 2013 09:51

We start today with the man that just last week claimed that he was not going anywhere and that any talk of it was 'absurd'. Yet Cesc Fabregas decided that today would be a good day to remind all of us that he has yet to receive any offers that would lure him away from his beloved Barcelona. Also that he is staying at Barcelona because playing for his home club has always been his dream. I’m pretty sure most of us heard you the first time Cesc, but thanks’ for reminding us.

Next we move to Manchester United Winger Nani. Juventus are still the front runners here and most believe it is just a matter of the finances now to get this transfer done. Nani’s career at United looks to be over and they are ready to part company with each other. Nani played sparingly last season only making 11 appearances in which he started seven. Nani only has one year left on his contract so now is the time to send him elsewhere. United’s bench is deep enough that he will be little missed.

Aston Villa again has put out the call that Darren Bent is for sell. They are asking in the neighborhood of £8m for his transfer but so far are finding that number a little high. Bent is also said that if he is to move away from Villa Park, he would still require the same wages he currently is making which is £3m a year. Again this number too is hard for any team interested in a player that did little more than sit the bench most of last season. If either Villa or Bent do not reduce the money they are asking for, they may end up stuck with each other for another season. As what happens in most transfer windows though, some team will panic as the window begins to close. They will toss down the money for Bent’s services and then hate themselves in the morning.

Birmingham winger Nathan Redmond has drawn the attention of several suitors. It looks that Crystal Place, Fulham and Norwich are all willing to pay £2m each for the 19-year-old. Most in need is Ian Holloway’s Crystal Palace; they have yet to replace Winfried Zaha and are in need of someone to fill the role that was left vacant. Holloway believes that the Norway Under-21 player may fit in at his club and is looking to give him trail during the pre-season.

Slow day today in the transfer market but we are now only 11 days away until the the transfer window opens and players can start moving about freely.
