Despite Aston Villa's claims that they have put talks about a new deal for Ashley Young on hold until the summer, rumours are emerging that the former Watford man has rejected a new big-money contract.

His form for club and country has attracted a number of clubs over the past 12 months with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham all reported to be chasing his signature when the transfer window opens.

It is believed that Young is intent on challenging himself at the highest level and is keen on a move to Old Trafford and the chance to play Champions League football. The winger could cost up to £25 million.
