The French international, who was on target last night in a 2-0 Euro 2012 qualifying victory against Luxembourg, is said to be high on Sir Alex Ferguson's wish list.

Ferguson has been given money to spend in the window and is thought to be considering an £18 million offer for the 24-year-old.

Gourcoff joined Lyon from Bordeaux in the summer, but has yet to fully find his feet at his new club.

It's thought he would jump at the chance to move to the Premier League and set up his stall at Old Trafford.

Brighton & Hove Albion are going places. Flying high in League One and with a new stadium set to open next season, the Seagulls are taking aim at the big time.

So it's no surprise manager Gus Poyet is targeting a big-name striker in Sunderland's David Healy. (Daily Mirror)

The Northern Ireland international is struggling to make an impression at the Stadium of Light and Poyet is hoping to bring him in on loan.
