Transfer News - United close in on Anders Lindegaard; Schwarzer to Arsenal on again

Manchester United are preparing to make a January move for Danish international goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

United had Lindegaard watched for the fifth time this weekend, when goalkeeping coach Eric Steele travelled to see him play for Norweigen side Aalesunds.

Steel returned with high praise for the 26-year-old stopper, and United are thought to have made early enquiries about his availability.

Aalesunds are prepared for a transfer window bid from United, and Lindegaard is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford.

AC Milan, Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked to the keeper.

Sticking to the stoppers theme, Arsenal may yet get their man in Fulham's Mark Schwarzer - who says he will consider any offers come the new year.

"I lot can happen between now and January," Schwarzer told ESPN. "What will be will be. If there's an opportunity in January then we'll explore it."

Arsenal's goalkeeping troubles have been well documented in recent weeks, and the 38-year-old Schwarzer is seen by many as the perfect short-term solution.
