If Manchester United decide to sell Wayne Rooney as expected, expect plenty of column inches dedicated to how they'll spend the millions he brings in come January.

Yesterday Fernando Torres was the man in question, but today we move to Uruguay striker Luis Suarez.

Talksport.co.uk "understands" Sir Alex Ferguson is targeting the Ajax striker as a replacement for Rooney, and it is thought the Dutch giants will let him go for £30 million.

The 23-year-old scored 49 goals in 48 games last season at club level and impressed alongside former United striker Diego Forlan at the World Cup.

Suarez is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford, and if United can raise the funds the deal would prove too good to turn down for Ajax.

Meanwhile, Chelsea skipper John Terry and striker Nicolas Anelka have both talked excitedly about the possibility of Rooney moving to Chelsea.

Terry called Rooney "the best player in the world" and said he would strengthen Chelsea's squad.

Anelka added Rooney would be welcomed with open arms at Chelsea. "Of course I would buy him - he is a good player," said the Frenchman. "But I am not the chairman."
