Top Manchester United target chooses Serie A over Premier League

Mario Mandzukic flew in to have a medical at Juventus today, according to reports. The Italian giants even went so far as to post a picture of him arriving at the Caselle Airport on their Twitter page and welcome the Croatian international to Italy.

The move looks certain to happen as the Atletico Madrid player was quoted as saying, “I feel very good, the City is nice and I was here two or three times to play. It is a nice City and I hope I will be happy here.” It has emerged that Diego Simeone never really liked the Croatian as he “irritated him easily.” The move would surely be statement of intent from Juventus after reaching the Champions League Final as they will be looking to go a step further next season.

This move leaves Louis van Gaal and Manchester United in a bit of a debacle as their bid to replace Chelsea bound Radamel Falcao and maybe even Robin van Persie could see them turning to low key unproven scorers as there just aren’t any quality strikers on the market. Edinson Cavani from PSG is looking unlikely as the Parisians will not part ways with such a key player for any amount of money. Real Madrid cannot sell Karim Benzema unless they are getting Aguero which is certainly far from happening. Harry Kane has expressed his desire to stay on at Tottenham which only leaves players of the calibre of Charlie Austin but even those are decidedly scarce.
