It was an equalising goal that sparked a comeback before Wes Brown eventually got the winner and securing 3 points for Manchester United.Wayne Rooney latched onto a sloppy headed clearance from Peter Ramage in the Newcastle defence and rifled past a bewildered Shay Given at the near post. Even more impressive is the fact that before striking the ball, Wayne Rooney can be seen arguing with referee, Neale Barry. According to sources that day, a replacement was also being readied to replace Rooney due to a supposed knock he had picked up moments prior. Rooney would go on to score 11 league goals in his first season with a strike of just under a goal every other game.
