Toffees land City's Jo

Everton have secured the services of Manchester City striker Jo on a season-long loan with the option of a permanent deal. The Brazilian front-man spent the second half of last season at Goodison Park having struggled to find form at Eastlands since joining the club from CSKA Moscow. Club officials are working on the finer details of the deal but are confident Jo could figure in a pre-season friendly against Bury on Friday night. Jo scored five goals in 12 appearances for the Toffees, with David Moyes full of praise for the ease in which he settled in on Merseyside. The player made no secret of his desire to return to Goodison upon the expiration of his loan spell and has now been granted his wish. With Manchester City having landed Roque Santa Cruz and lodged interest in both Carlos Tevez and Samuel Eto'o, it looks as though Jo's days at City are numbered.
