The Untouchable XI - Even Mourinho couldn't drop any of this lot

Jose Mourinho has warned Chelsea's under-performing players that none of them are "untouchable".

Some players appears to be, though, so here Press Association Sport's Simon Peach has picked out an Untouchable XI from those that have spent time in English football.

Brad Friedel (GK)

In his pomp, the American goalkeeper was one of the best in the Premier League - underlined by his incredible run of 310 consecutive starts across eight years and three clubs.

Gary Neville (RB)

A leader on and off the pitch, Neville was always in control until the end, calling time on his career after being frustrated by his display against West Brom on New Year's Day 2011.

Harold Bell (CB)

Lesser known compared to others in the XI, but between 1946 and 1955 he played 401 consecutive league games for Tranmere.

Jamie Carragher (CB)

"We all dream of a team of Carraghers" chanted Liverpool fans in honour of the their greatest centre-halves - a player who his managers appreciated just as much.

Jonas Gutierrez (LB)

For a while, at least, the versatile former Newcastle man was untouchable. "It's Mascherano, Messi and Jonas, plus eight," said Argentina manager Diego Maradona around the time of the 2010 World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo (RM)

Ever since rocking up at Old Trafford, the Portuguese has only ever been on an upward trajectory, wowing fans in Manchester and then Madrid.

Steven Gerrard (CM)

He may have moved onto LA Galaxy as age began to takes its toll, but try telling any Liverpool fan the midfielder is anything but untouchable.

Matthew Le Tissier (CM)

A genius with the ball at his feet and so often the only reason Southampton retained their Premier League status during the 1990s.

Ryan Giggs (LM)

Having made his debut in 1990, he made a top-flight record 672 appearances for Manchester United before moving onto the coaching staff.

Alan Shearer (ST)

A local boy done good and exquisite striker to boot, Ruud Gullit dropped him for Newcastle's derby encounter with Sunderland and was sacked soon after.

Gabriel Agbonlahor (ST)

The only one on here for the wrong reasons as the Aston Villa striker, regardless of his form, has kept his place in the side under several managers.

Manager: Arsene Wenger

Best not ask Mr Mourinho about his time at Arsenal...
