The Argentina international is only contracted to United until the end of the season, after he arrived at Old Trafford on an initial two-year loan upon leaving West Ham.
United have an agreement in place to pay around £30million to a third-party for his services, but have failed to rubber-stamp this arrangement as yet.
Tevez is now left waiting to know whether he will remain at United, although he has repeatedly stated this is his intention in the past.
"I have the head start in Manchester and my idea is to stay here for a few more years," Tevez revealed in an interview with Radio del Plata.
"It would be very difficult to have to leave one of the biggest clubs in the world.
"I spoke with the president of the club, but nothing is signed yet.
"We are now waiting until June and we will see what happens."
