Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero expects compatriot Carlos Tevez to play a big part in the title run-in.

Tevez is now back in manager Roberto Mancini's plans following the closure of his dispute with the club and made his first appearance in six months when he played a key role in Wednesday's vital Barclays Premier League win over Chelsea.

Former Atletico Madrid forward Aguero said: "Although I'm not Roberto Mancini, I'm not the manager, we all know he's an important player for us, a key player and with the nine games remaining in the season I think he can bring a lot to the side."

He added: "If and when selected I think it's an important time for him to come back.

"He's a key player because he's got five years' experience of playing in the Premier League.

"We have a lot of good players here and he is one other player, but he will be very very important to us because he's one in a long list of top-quality players at this club.

"He will bring a lot to the party for what remains of the season."

Aguero believes Tevez could now give City a crucial extra cutting edge.

The 23-year-old said: "Through what happened and the situation that came about I've not had much chance to play with Carlos but what we have done between the three of us - myself, Mario and Edin - is to give a good account of ourselves in terms of goalscoring.

"We have done fairly well but I think it would be nice to have Carlos on board to add goals to the threesome, but it's down to the manager and hopefully he continues to pick me."
