Strootman eyes summer options

Reported Manchester United target Kevin Strootman will not leave PSV Eindhoven in January but the midfielder could be on the move next summer.

AC Milan are also interested in the £15million-rated 22-year-old but Sir Alex Ferguson is rumoured to be leading the chase for the Holland international. United are thought to want a strong presence in central midfield and Strootman could prove a solution, although his agent has ruled out the possibility of a winter transfer. Representative Chiel Dekker told calciomercato.com when asked about the possibility of Strootman leaving PSV in January: "Absolutely not. There is absolutely no truth in that.

"We are only in October. The only thing I can tell you is to call me back in April or May." He added:

"We all know that in football everything is possible. But at the moment it is useless to talk about the market."
