Strong interest being shown in Manchester United's Bastian Schweinsteiger

Unwanted Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is attracting significant interest, with English clubs understood to be among those eyeing a move for the former Germany captain.

A year after joining from Bayern Munich to much fanfare, the 32-year-old midfielder looks set to be on the move once again.

Jose Mourinho's arrival has seen Schweinsteiger frozen out, prompting Dejan Stefanovic of world players' union FIFPro to say the United boss should be jailed for "bullying".

Press Association Sport understands the out-of-favour midfielder is attracting widespread interest, with English clubs among those keen to bring him in.

United appear confident of selling the midfielder and do not expect wages to prove a stumbling block, while it is understood Juan Mata, sold by Mourinho during their time at Chelsea, looks set to stay Old Trafford.

The same cannot be said for Adnan Januzaj as a move to pastures new looks on the cards, albeit potentially only temporarily.

The 21-year-old returned early from an underwhelming loan spell at Borussia Dortmund last term and a season at another club is being considered.
