Etherington's corner is an inswinger, and from six yards out he gets in-between Rio Ferdinand and Jones to nod past the Spaniard.[LNB]50min: A half-chance for United with Young's low ball in the box just evading Owen. Not the greatest day so far for the former Villa winger.[LNB]47min: News on Hernandez is he has suffered a dead leg. Rest, ice, compression, elevate I guess is the recommendation there.[LNB]46min: A first chance form a set piece for Stoke but Matthew Etherington, curls a cross to the back post where isn't a soul about.[LNB] In pursuit: Pennant (right) and Anderson chase the ball[LNB]Second-half: Stoke get us underway, kicking towards the Boothen End.[LNB]18.31: So what can we expect in the second half?[LNB]Stoke are surely going to throw an aerial bombardment, De Gea has looked unstoppable from shots but still looks a little vulnerable from crosses....call it Heurelho Gomes on form. Jonathan Walters' shot goes through Patrice Evra's legs inside the box and is heading for the bottom corner until the Spaniard just pushes it behind.[LNB]34min: Wilkinson wins the commitment battle with Anderson - showing no fear by heading the ball into Delap's path. Ryan Shawcross's ball back to Begovic is a shocker but after the keeper has a poor first touch the Portuguese has the next. Andy Wilkinson beats Ashley Young to a loose ball outside the box before taking a touch and blasting a strike towards the top corner.[LNB]How De Gea reacts by tipping it on to the bar and out for a corner is astonishing. Nani plays a one-two with Darren Fletcher and after waltzing through the defence fires into the bottom corner. Great movement from Owen to allow the Portuguese winger space for a shot.[LNB]25min: Pedestrian stuff as Crouch is pulled up for another foul challenging for a header.[LNB]22min: Apologies folks. Jonny Evans pulled up in the warm up and did not start the game. Antonio Valencia filled in at right back instead with Federico Macheda added to the subs bench.[LNB]21min: It's a game of attrition it seems. Jermaine Pennant slips over under no pressure from anyone and he looks like he may have twisted his knee. A slight delay while he gets some treatment on the pitch.[LNB] In the spotlight: Owen was an early replacement for the injured Hernandez (below)[LNB] 19min: Other than that we haven't had much chances on goal. Stoke probably edging the game at the moment but the visitors are coping well enough.[LNB]18min: That's as close as United have come, Berbatov peeling off the back of former Tottenham team mate Woodgate at the back post to head wide Anderson's corner.[LNB]15min: Poor from Peter Crouch who in a mismatch of height is all over the back of Phil Jones for a header at the back post, giving away a free-kick.[LNB]Why he complains to Peter Walton I haven't got a clue.[LNB]13min: This game is brutal, no flow so far and it's partly due to the Stoke players having a devil may care attitude on the pitch.[LNB]11min: Here is the change then with Owen on for Hernandez. The stage is set Michael, don't let me down after all the hype I have gave you in recent weeks![LNB]8min: After Hernandez came back on, he has retreated to the sidelines again and this doesn't look good for the Mexican. Michael Owen is warming up.[LNB]Having seen another replay, Woodgate gets the slightest of touches on the ball from that challenge three minutes ago.[LNB]6min: They are not getting away with this though! Glenn Whelan goes right through Patrice Evra, picking up a booking. Hernandez launched onto a superb ball from Phil Jones but before he can shoot he is tripped by Jonathan Woodgate.[LNB]To make it worse for the Mexican, he is clattered by Asmir Begovic as he goes down and is going to have some treatment. Stoke have got away with that.[LNB]3min: But a Rory Delap throw in follows which he punches wildly at. Not convincing but United clear their lines.[LNB]2min: Early chance for Stoke through a corner. I hadn't seen anything like it before or since.
