Stoichkov: Berbatov will remain at United

Legendary Bulgarian Hristo Stoichkov insists fellow countryman Dimitar Berbatov has no intention of leaving Manchester United this summer. Even though he remains top of the Premier League goalscorers' list, it seems Berbatov cannot find a regular place in Sir Alex Ferguson's starting line-up. The 30-year-old has started just twice in United's last 10 games following the shock defeat at Wolves on February 5. His impact at West Ham on Saturday came from the bench where, if recent history is any guide, Berbatov will also be at the start of United's eagerly-anticipated Champions League quarter-final with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Stoichkov knows Berbatov better than most, having followed his career with interest since he first inherited the mantle of being his country's best player. And the former Barcelona star is certain Berbatov has no plans to leave Old Trafford. "Berbatov is not going to leave United," he said. "He is going to stay. He is happy because he is at one of the best football teams in the world. Money is not the most important thing for him. What is important for him is to become the best player on his team."
