Start Of a Comeback For Fletcher

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher will be training with the Scotland squad this week says manager Craig Levein.

The 28-year-old has had a tough time of things lately things did not look good when Alex Ferguson said last month that he still had not returned to training after his chronic bowel complaint.

But Levein named Fletcher in the squad for the friendly with Australia and now looks set to play his first game since November if things go well.

When asked if Fletcher could have a role in the national set-up if he had to retire from playing Levein revealed his skipper is on the long road to recovery.

"Darren will be with us at the weekend, he is back in training and he played 45 minutes in a practice match last week," he said.

"He is not in the squad because he has not played for Manchester United but he will come back and do a bit of training with us."
