Spurs boss Redknapp begs for video replays after ref Webb's gaffe at United

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has called for video replays to be used following Howard Webb's high-profile mistake at Old Trafford on Saturday. Webb awarded Manchester United a highly contentious penalty with Spurs leading 2-0, but later admitted he was wrong to give the spot-kick. United went on to win the game 5-2 after a stunning second half comeback, but appeared to be running out of ideas before Webb gifted them a penalty. And Redknapp believes the time has now come to introduce video technology to ensure such errors are eradicated. '[Webb's] an honest man. He's an honest referee. He's a top referee,' Redknapp told Sky Sports News. 'He made a ricket, you know we all saw that, but what can you do now? It's done. 'I still think that the fourth official, who is stood by. What is he doing there? What is the fourth official's job really? 'He should be looking at that monitor that is available there and key decisions like that would take 10, 15 or 20 seconds for him to say 'Howard - not a penalty, he's played the ball'.' It wasn't the first time Tottenham have been the victims of a refereeing mistake at Old Trafford. Back in 2005, Pedro Mendes' long-range shot clearly crossed the line, only for referee Mark Clattenburg to wave play-on. Meanwhile, Tottenham have confirmed striker Darren Bent will be out for at least two weeks with a medial ligament injury. Bent, 25, suffered the problem with his left knee at United and was sent for scans this week. And those tests revealed the extent of the damage, with Bent set to have hisknee in a brace for a fortnight before specialists make a further assessment.
