Smalling Signs New Deal
Defender Chris Smalling has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester United. The club could not go without rewarding the player for such an exceptional season last time around when he made 34 appearances and far exceeded the expectations of Sir Alex Ferguson after making the following a £7million summer move from Fulham. And in his first season he helped the club on their way to their record breaking 19th title. "I am delighted Chris has signed a new contract," said Sir Alex Ferguson.
