Sir Alex hails comeback win

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Sunday's thrilling 3-2 victory over Aston Villa could galvanise Manchester United's season. The Red Devils' charge towards another Premier League title had faltered of late following back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Fulham. United trailed 2-1 to out-of-form Villa with only 10 minutes remaining before completing a vintage comeback victory at Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo levelled matters before teenage Italian striker Federico Macheda curled home a delightful injury-time winner to snatch the unlikeliest of wins. Ferguson admits he made a mistake in assigning Gary Neville to man-mark John Carew, but believes the quality on show made for fantastic viewing. Cardiac treatment"It will probably lead to more cardiac treatment for our supporters, as well as for myself, but it is fantastic to watch," explained Ferguson. "I made the wrong decision in the first place leaving Gary Neville to mark John Carew and then we survived some hairy moments at 2-1. "But that is when our risk-taking side comes out. We didn't care if Aston Villa scored again, the intention was to score ourselves. "The winner was one of those incredible moments you probably only get at this club and it could well galvanise the club."
