Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United 'B' teams risk row over relegation dogfight

ShareSir Alex Ferguson's team selection for Manchester United's final two games of the Barclays Premier League season could influence the outcome of the relegation battle.[LNB]United manager Ferguson will understandably look to rest players for games at Blackburn this Saturday and especially at home to Blackpool on the final day of the season as he prepares his star names for the Champions League final against Barcelona at Wembley on May 28.[LNB]Ferguson has already indicated that he will be respectful torwards other relegation strugglers such as West Ham, Blackpool and Wigan. However, it seems inevitable that Blackpool in particular will find themselves facing a shadow United side.[LNB]Selection poser: Sir Alex[LNB]The Premier League routinely remind clubs of their obligation to play their strongest teams and will no doubt monitor the situation.[LNB]United found themselves in this situation two years ago when they fielded a below-par team on the final day at Hull as part of their preparation for that year's Champions League Final in Rome. On that occasion, though, United still won the game comfortably. [LNB]United captain Nemanja Vidic however has plenty of confidence in the squad's younger players, saying: 'This team has space to grow. They have the chance to be at the best club and they have the support from the staff to ensure you get the best out of yourself.[LNB]'You are encouraged to work.
