Sir Alex Ferguson knows how to get Manchester United home from here

Having reflected on a week in which the vile chants of fans had stolen the headline, Sir Alex Ferguson would prefer to focus on the battles he believes he can win. Starting with Sunday's Barclays Premier League match at Arsenal. [LNB]It has been a strange season for Manchester United on their travels. They have made Champions League history by surviving an entire campaign without conceding an away goal. But in the league they have been poor by comparison, failing to secure a single win away to a team in the top half of the table.[LNB] 11 titles: No one knows how to close out a season better than Sir Alex Ferguson[LNB]At the Emirates they have an opportunity to end that run, and Ferguson is keen to see his side do that when their rivals hope a week that includes the second leg of a Champions League semi-final and a meeting with Chelsea at Old Trafford proves too much for them.[LNB]'The slant I seemed to be getting from the media was that Arsenal and Chelsea were expecting to win these games,' said Ferguson with a hint of a snarl. 'My view is, 'Why can't we win these matches?' Surely, given the form we are in, we can win these matches. [LNB]'They are difficult games. But in the form we are in we have a good chance. If we get a point it's not the worst point you will get, down at Arsenal. But we are not looking for a point.[LNB]'Even after that we have to go to Blackburn and play Blackpool at home. These two teams are fighting relegation. If we get to the last game, the last at home, needing to win to win the league we will be happy with that.'[LNB] Happy memories: Park Ji-Sung celebrates scoring in Man United's win at the Emirates last season[LNB]Year after year, United have finished the season strongly and Ferguson expects this campaign to be no different. [LNB]'It was the same at Aberdeen as well,' he said. 'We always did well in the springtime. We look forward to these games. We want to be there and have these run-ins. They are hard but the more experience you get, the better you can handle it.'[LNB]It is a spirit, a determination, that comes from the manager. [LNB]'It's a natural thing,' he said. 'The personality of the manager is the most important thing in the club. That personality involves the determination of your character, your philosophies. That personality can inspire players to be better and to believe and trust - the qualities we are seeing in our team.' [LNB] Still in touch: Ferguson spoke to Cristiano Ronaldo after Real Madrid's defeat to Barcelona[LNB]United are certainly handling the pressure better than an Arsenal side that, by Arsene Wenger's own admission, have crumbled since their Carling Cup final defeat in February. United, by comparison, are flying. [LNB]Making a difference: Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have gelled better than anyone expected[LNB]Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have formed a brilliantly effective partnership, reducing a  fit-again Dimitar Berbatov to the role of understudy. [LNB]They have been so good, says Ferguson, that they are more than making up for the loss of a player he watched in action in Madrid on Wednesday night. [LNB]'Cristiano Ronaldo had a great time here but he is at a great club now too,' he said. 'I spoke to him after the game and he is enjoying being in Madrid. He had a great time here, we got six years out of him, we got him as a kid and he went to Madrid a man. [LNB]'But teams always win the big competitions and, while an individual can make a difference as Ronaldo did many times Rooney and Hernandez are making the difference now. (Antonio) Valencia's form is also making a difference.[LNB]'Rooney has been in fantastic form. He and Hernandez have been a revelation in the last few weeks. It's given us all hope. [LNB]'Individuals make a difference in that way, but if you look at the work-rate of our team collectively on Tuesday night that is what we try to aim for.'[LNB]Collectively, United are starting to look unstoppable.
