ShareNo comment: Ferguson didn't reply to the charge [LNB]Sir Alex Ferguson has displayed his growing contempt for the FA by refusing even to respond properly to their latest charge of improper conduct. [LNB]The Manchester United manager was given until 4pm on Monday to tell the FA whether he wished to contest a charge levelled at him last Friday for comments about referee Howard Webb before the recent title decider against Chelsea.[LNB] It is thought Ferguson is so incensed by it that United just sent a letter to the FA saying he would not be responding. [LNB]His silence will be seen as an admission of guilt, with a fine or warning imposed rather than a ban.[LNB]Ferguson became the first manager to be charged by the FA for comments made about a referee in the run-up to aBarclays Premier League game. [LNB]The Scot said his 'big fear' was that a mistake by Webb would influence the outcome of the match. [LNB]The United boss - a fan of Webb - didalso say the World Cup referee was the 'best man for the job' and the official went on to have an uneventful game as United moved to within a point of the title by winning 2-1.
