Scholes - Title not won yet
Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes insists that the race for the Premier League title is not over.[LNB] United extended their lead over second place Liverpool to five points after beating Fulham 3-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday.[LNB]The 34-year-old scored what is becoming his trademark goal after he volleyed home the opener direct from a corner from outside the penalty area.[LNB]Many people now believe the Red Devils have the title sewn up and such is the commanding nature of their recent performances in the league that many people are beginning to wonder when a team will score against them, let alone beat them.[LNB]But despite United's recent form, Scholes believes their rivals Liverpool are still very much in the title hunt.[LNB]"Every win is a big one now," he highlighted.[LNB]Chances"Five points is a good lead to have. But there is still a long way to go. We have 13 games left and Liverpool still have to come here, so they will still fancy their chances.[LNB]"They are still playing quite well so it is still going to be tight." [LNB]United's run has come despite manager Sir Alex Ferguson often chopping and changing his line-up and the former England international believes the competition for places is what keeps the players on their toes.[LNB]"Competition for places is intense," Scholes added.[LNB]"With Wayne Rooney coming back and all the options in midfield, the manager can make a lot of changes without affecting the team."[LNB]
