Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes wins the Premier League's Player of the Month for August, a prize he has won for the fourth time. He now stands alongside Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Frank Lampard and Cristiano Ronaldo in the all-time honours list, one behind Wayne Rooney
and Steven Gerrard. Scholes picked up the early award after turning the clock back to some vintage Scholes performances, he ran circles around Newcastle United, scoring one and laying on two. Net time out he hit a wonderful goal for United at Fulham, fizzing in a shot from the edge of the area before the game finished 2-2. His goal was his 150th. Scholes rounded off the month by playing a key role in a 3-0 victory over West Ham.
